1. What is the title of your book? Wiccan Lies but there isn’t a release
date on this yet. I DO, however, have some short stories being featured in a
few anthologies. One of which you can get right now: “Sinister Seductions”,
featuring my short “Devilish Delights and Rancid Offerings” is available on
Amazon in eBook format or in print. “Fearology” is featuring two of my shorts “Tori’s
Demon” and “The Things in the Mirror” while “Fairly Freaky Fairytales is
featuring one “The Queen’s Revenge” and they are both scheduled to be released
this very weekend. Then we have two more “Darkest Desires” featuring “First
Love is Grim” comes out October 30th and “Grim Vengeance” featuring,
not one but two of my shorts, “Playing with Demons” and “Revenge be a Demon”
comes out on Halloween. That’s right October 31st. You will be able
to find all of these awesome books on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Sinister-Seductions-Roxanne-Rhoads/dp/0615706088/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1350566949&sr=1-1&keywords=sinister+seductions
2. Where did the idea come from for the book? I have been writing short
stories and poems since I was around twelve years old. When I turned
twenty-four my foster sister told me about this amazing author that I just HAD
to read. So I borrowed her copy of “Guilty Pleasure” by Laurell K Hamilton and fell
instantly in love. It was at that point that Wicca was being seen in a pretty
bad light (at least in my hometown) so I decided that something needed to be
done to shed some light on the subject so I wrote Wiccan Lies. It is a
fictional book but it has factual Wicca points in it.
3. What genre does your book fall under? Paranormal fiction
4. Which actors/actresses would you choose to play your characters in a
movie rendition of your work? I haven’t put too much thought into that, wanting
to get it out on shelves first but if I had to choose it would be: MacKenzie
played by Gabrielle Anwar (from Burn Notice), Damion played by Ian Somerhalder
(from Vampire Diaries), Rapzodie and Ethan are
not so easy to find seeing as though I would be really picky. But Gabrielle
Anwar would definitely make a great MacKenzie and Ian Somerhalder would make an awesome Damion.
5. What is the one-sentence synopsis for your book? MacKenzie just realized
the bogeyman is real and he lives right next door.
6. Will/is your book self-published or represented by an agency? I’m hoping
it will be represented by an agency
7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your MS? Almost
eight years
8. What other books would you compare your story to within your genre?
9. Who or what inspired your writing? I have been told since I was little
that I have a very active imagination and a wonderful way with words. My eighth
grade teacher told me that I should try to become a writer, so I tried. With
his help and the help from family members, I honed that talent to get to where
I am today. It hasn’t been an easy road and there were a lot of times that I
just wanted to give up but I kept at it.
10. What else about your book might pique the readers interest? MacKenzie goes
through a roller coaster of passion and mystery, leading up to her discovery
that the bogeyman truly exists and shattering her once semi-tidy world. If you
love paranormal and fiction this is a book that you really will want to keep
your eyes peeled for.
